Chromatic Altar

Hilma’s Ghost hosted Chromatic Altar at the Guggenheim Museum on February 13th, 2025, in collaboration with artist Eve Biddle, blending feminist and spiritualist activations in a striking tribute to the museum’s architecture and history. The activation featured a mesmerizing performance by 18 dancers that used colored scarves and engaged in gestures of knotting, weaving, and whirling—symbolic acts of witchcraft and mysticism. The performance culminated in sheer fabric cascading from the balconies, transforming the atrium into a living, abstract painting.
